Explicit Branco comes from old vineyards in Serra de São Mamede (Porto de Espada, Salão Frio, Alegrete and Pedra Basta) at about 540 meters elevation. This is a wine that aims to show place without filters: high-altitude for Alentejo, a cool expression, and long life.
The vines are 60-80 years old and planted as a field blend of indigenous Portuguese grape varieties. The soils are sandy and skeletal with granite, low in fertility and with low water-holding capacity, yielding concentration and clear minerality.
On the nose, citrus and quince over stony mineral. The palate is dense yet precise, with fresh acidity and a long, saline-taut finish.
